calorie deficit (goals) aren't good enough for us and here's why...


I know what you're thinking...

NOT ANOTHER B****Y POST ABOUT CALORIES!..

AND HOW THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS (WHEN IT COMES TO 'LOSING WEIGHT') IS BEING IN A CALORIE DEFICIT.

But come on! You should know us better than that by now...

Especially after we covered why 'weight loss' is almost never the goal in this article the other day.

Look, the reality is;

WE'VE NEVER GIVEN A SHAPESHIFTERS CLIENT A CALORIE GOAL...EVER!

And if you want me to be completely honest it's because I've never seen a calorie deficit based weight loss result and been impressed, sorry!

Manly because the people featured usually look gaunt, tired and over-dieted.

Not to mention that;

DISHING OUT CALORIE GOALS IS JUST DOWNRIGHT LAZY AND WON'T PRODUCE THE TYPE OF ROI THAT OUR CLIENTS EXPECT FROM US.

You see, for us; 

A CALORIE GOAL IS JUST THE FIRST STEP IN CRAFTING A PERSONALISED NUTRITION PLAN - NOT THE ONLY STEP!

WE WANT YOU TO EAT BETTER! NOT JUST 'LESS'!..

And in order for that to happen; we have to help you make better food choices...

Not just palm you off with an arbitrary number to hit, which you'll just try to shoe-horn as much junk as possible into.

That said; if we were to choose the 'easy life' and outsource our nutrition services to a white labelled app (like a lot of Fit Pro's who haven't got a clue about nutrition do) then it would make our life a hell of a lot easier...

But here's the thing, if we were to take the easy option and just give out a calorie deficit goal, our results wouldn't be anywhere near as impressive...

And the job satisfaction that we get from significantly improving the physical and emotional health of our clients would be a thing of the past...

Sorry! But that's not for us!
