Before we start talking about Exercise Bulimia, let's start by setting the scene, shall we!?..

IT'S NEARLY SUNDAY NIGHT AND YOU'VE EATEN EVERYTHING IN SIGHT...

WHICH MEANS THE FEELINGS OF GUILT ARE ABOUT TO KICK IN...

SO YOU MENTALLY START PLANNING WHAT IT'S GOING TO TAKE TO 'BURN IT OFF TOMORROW'...

OR OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS (DEPENDING ON HOW HARD YOU WENT IN ON THE JAFFA CAKES)...

Option 1: is a 5k road run (because you don't have access to gym equipment)...

Option 2: is a 5k run on a treadmill (counting down the calories until you can go home)...

Option 3: is a Peleton, P90X or Insanity 'type' workout (in the spare room, after you've cleared out all the storage boxes)...

Option 4: is a high intensity gym class with a name like: Body Attack or Body Blitz where you can literally see the 'guilt' steaming up the windows...

But, it doesn't really matter though does it!?

BECAUSE AS LONG AS YOU ABSOLUTELY ANNIHALATE YOURSELF, YOU'LL HAVE 'DONE THE TIME, FOR YOUR CRIME'...

The problem is though...

IT DOESN'T REALLY WORK LIKE THAT!..

AND YOU MAY HAVE FOUND YOURSELF IN A DYSFUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH EXERCISE...

WHERE YOU NOW SEE EXERCISE AS A FORM OF PUNISHMENT FOR YOUR 'CRIMES AGAINST CALORIES'...

And when people try to use exhaustive exercise as a 'get out out (calorie) jail free card'...

They often find them self feeling burnt out and fighting a losing battle...

But don't worry if you feel like this relates to you, because you're not alone!

In fact, this thought process is so common, that it's been given a name: Exercise Bulimia...

So yeah, s**t just got real!

SO WHAT'S THE SOLUTION?

For the average person, adding exhaustive exercise in to an already hectic schedule, is usually the straw that breaks the camels back...

And is often the reason why people find themselves failing each and every time they 'jump on another health kick'...

But when you take a step back, and ask yourself the question:

IF I ALREADY FEEL EXHAUSTED, HOW CAN ADDING IN EXHAUSTIVE EXERCISE  IMPROVE MY SITUATION?..

Things start to become clear!

Because the truth is:

IN ORDER TO BUILD GOOD HEALTH (AND THE BODY TO MATCH), YOU NEED TO START WITH BUILDING SOLID LIFESTYLE FOUNDATIONS FIRST, I.E.:

SUN EXPOSURE

QUALITY sleep

stress MANAGEMENT

TARGETTED nutrition

And then, once you've got all that under control, add in some walking to increase your daily activity levels, simple!

NOW LOOK; I KNOW YOU'RE ALWAYS HAVING 'GO-HARD-OR-GO-HOME' FORCED DOWN YOUR THROAT BY SO CALLED 'FITNESS-INFLUENCERS'...

BUT TAKE IT FROM US; 'LEAST-MODE' TRUMPS 'BEAST-MODE' EVERY SINGLE TIME!..

SO DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND GET YOUR LIFESTYLE IN CHECK FIRST, BEFORE YOU START 'SMASHING THE GYM'

So there you have it! You now know why you 'Don't Use Exercise As A Punishment' which (for some) is a key component of building a healthy mindset (and body!) I hope you found it useful.
